Auctionee: Kouri Marshall

In Date Auction: Men on August 10, 2011 by Tyler Gray

MarshallTo his great credit, despite his impressive background Kouri submitted a very humble questionnaire. However thanks to the magic of the Googles on the internet machines I can also let you know that before signing onto the President’s re-election campaign, Kouri worked at the Truman National Security Project, was a  Legislative Assistant at Operation HOPE, the former Chairman of Youth Entitlements Summit and a member of the Clinton Global Initiative University 2008 Inaugural Class as well as a Fellow at the Center for Progressive Leadership. For these accomplishments and others, he was also featured as one of top “40 under 40” leaders in DC by the EnVest Foundation.

On a more personal level, in addition to being a good guy with a healthy attitude and more than a few corny jokes to share, Kouri tells us that he “rocked a mighty afro as a child, and can play the saxophone. I enjoy classical music, in addition to Jay-Z and Kanye West being two of my favorite artists .”

Auctionee: Anthony Dale

In Date Auction: Men on August 10, 2011 by Tyler Gray

Anthony 1For someone like Anthony, the word ‘ambitious’ doesn’t quite cut it. Not only is Anthony serving our nation in the Marine Corps, he is also contributing to our economy as a small business owner, with his own political and government relations consulting firm! However its not all work for Anthony, as he tell us, “Whenever I am not working I try to get outside and really enjoy the nature. I would say I am a romantic, chivalry is not dead and I am on a crusade to pump some life back into it. As Honore De Balzac once said “‘The motto of chivalry is also the motto of wisdom; to serve all, but love only one.’”

As to what a date with Anthony entails, lets just say he aims high “I think someone should bid on a date with me if they really want to know what life is about. A date with me is not just dinner or movie, but it is an evening of bliss. Image a night where all you had to do was breath and I take care of the rest. Pampering is my specialty and her wish is my command.  So if they really want a night that all their friend will envy, then bid on me.

Favorite about Obama: “The thing that stands out to me most about the President besides his progressive agenda is that he is a family man. He always takes time to spend with his daughters and the First Lady. In my opinion that shows that no matter what he is committed to his family and ensuring that they are taken care of. “

In Date Auction: Men on August 10, 2011 by Tyler Gray

268648_10150236623608195_513788194_7313186_7237976_nIf you haven’t gotten to know Justin somewhere on ‘the scene’ your either older than his hat or a total shut in. As the first gentlemen to step up and volunteer to be auctioned off, he explained that “bidding at a date auction is just shy of being as embarrassing as the line-up of GOP presidential nominees. Besides, I’m a veteran Space Command officer, in a rock and roll band, and am relatively gainfully employed – most importantly, my mom said I’m handsome… but that was long ago.”

So what will your dream date with Justin look like? “A date would include dinner, salacious stories, and joining my band backstage for our gig at Rock n’ Roll Hotel during DC Beer Week.

Auctionee: Alex Priest

In Date Auction: Men on August 9, 2011 by Tyler Gray

alex-priestAs one of the top social media personalities in DC, many are surprised to find out that Alex just graduated from AU this year, especially given his record of working to build up the entrepreneurial community of DC and on side projects to get people excited about social media, technology and even public transit. As to why you want to bid early and often for Alex, he tell us that “Because I’m young, intelligent, progressive, fairly attractive, well connected, gainfully employed, and a good listener. And I’m humble. ;-)”

Regarding how your date will go, it will certainly not be limited to 140 characters:

“A date with me might include a visit to Meridian Hill Park (since it’s far and away the most under-appreciated park in DC), a good dinner at a place with a nice atmosphere, and classy after-dinner cocktails at the Gibson. Who needs the W rooftop when you can settle down in style for a good conversation and some nice bourbon, off-the-menu cocktails?

Alternatively, I might go for an outdoorsy date–perhaps a solid, speedy bike ride, or a hike along Great Falls, followed up by a relaxing dinner and a movie and drinks at E Street Cinema.”

Interested in: Women

Favorite thing about Obama: “
His calm and his intelligence. It’s easy to get worked up about some of the things the opposition manages to screw up, and it’s hard not to go off a little bit when you see someone absolutely refuse to listen or compromise. But President Obama manages to keep it together, and that’s a truly impressive trait for someone in such a high pressure position.”

A pick-up line that works:  “Hi, I’m Alex. What’s your story?”
